Candidates may visit our web-site at www.isro.gov.in to register their applications on-line between 08-02-2012 and 28-02-2012. Applications will be received on-line only. Upon registration, applicants will be provided with an on-line Registration Number, which should be carefully preserved for future reference. E-mail ID of the applicant will have to be given in the application compulsorily.
  • Payment of Application Fee : There will be an Application Fee of Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred Only) for each application. After registration of application on-line, the candidates have to down-load and print the personalized payment challan form, in triplicate, from the ISRO system which will contain the Name of the candidate, Registration Number, Receipt Account Number, Advertisement No., Post No. and Post Code. The candidates may visit the nearest branch of State Bank of India for remittance of application fee to Receipt Account No.32034064593, by using the personalized payment challan of State Bank of India on any day between 08.02.2012 and 29.02.2012. The candidates may down-load and print the personalized payment challan from the ISRO system on any day between 08.02.2012 and 28.02.2012 and remit the application fee before the prescribed last date i.e., 29.02.2012. Upon remittance of the application fee, one copy of the challan form will be retained by State Bank [Bank copy] and remaining two parts will be given to the candidate. Out of the two challan parts, the candidate has to send one part of the challan form [ISRO copy] to Sr. Administrative Officer (ICRB), ISRO Headquarters, Antariksh Bhavan, New BEL Road, Bangalore -560 231 by post superscribing on the envelope "ICRB - RECRUITMENT OF SCIENTIST/ENGINEER 'SC'" within 7 days of filing of application and in any case not later than 07.03.2012. The remaining one copy of challan form [Applicant copy] shall be retained by the candidate for future reference. The payment shall be made through cash deposit only. Payment of Application Fee in any other form like cash, cheque, draft, money order, IPO, etc. are not allowed. Applications, in respect of which copy of challan form, after remittance of prescribed application fee [ISRO copy] is not received in ISRO HQ, Bangalore on or before 07.03.2012, will not be considered for further processing under any circumstances.
  • Women; Scheduled Castes (SC); Scheduled Tribes (ST); Ex-serviceman [EX] and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) candidates are exempted from payment of Application Fee.   • Women Candidate - Gender certificate issued by the Principal of the College where last studied or Attested copy of PAN Card/Voter's ID Card/College ID Card/Passport/Driving License/Ration Card. SC/ST candidates - Attested copy of Caste Certificate Persons with disabilities(PWD) - Attested copy of Medical Certificate indicating extent of disability issued by Medical Board Ex-Servicemen - Attested copy of Discharge Certificate
  • Applications, in respect of which the above certificates are not received alongwith a copy of the registration confirmation form [ISRO copy] on or before 07.03.2012 will not be considered for further processing under any circumstances.
  • Those candidates who are already employed under Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertakings or Autonomous Bodies have to send a `No Objection Certificate' from the employer concerned, duly indicating their Registration Number and Post Code to Sr. Administrative Officer (ICRB), ISRO Headquarters, Antariksh Bhavan, New BEL Road, Bangalore -560 231 within 7 days of filing of application and in any case not later than 07.03.2012.
Selection Process:
    The candidate should have First Class with minimum 65% marks in the Qualifying Degree ie, BE/B.Tech or equivalent for submission of application on line. Please note that this qualification prescribed is the MINIMUM requirement and the same does not automatically make candidates eligible for written test. Based on the academic performance and bio-data, initial screening will be conducted to short-list candidates for taking-up written test. The written test will be conducted on 21.04.2012(Saturday) at thirteen venues viz., Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dispur, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, New Delhi and Thiruvananthapuram. However, the Organisation reserves the right to cancel/change the written test venue and re-allot the candidates to any other test centre. The call letters for the written test to the short-listed candidates will be sent only by e-mail during the first week of April 2012. Based on the performance of the candidates in the Written Test, candidates will be short-listed for interview. The schedule and venue of the interview will be notified separately to the shortlisted candidates only. Candidates attending the interview will be reimbursed to and fro second-class train fare by the shortest route from the city indicated in the online application form to the place of interview (change of address and city for the purpose will not be entertained)..
Pay and Allowances:
    Selected candidates will be appointed as Scientist/Engineer 'SC' in the pay band of 15600-39100 with grade pay of 5400/-. The gross emoluments in the minimum of pay band will at present be approximately Rs. 33,180/-p.m. In addition, House Rent Allowance [HRA] and Transport Allowance at the prescribed rates in force at the place of posting will be paid for those who are not availing Departmental Housing and Transport facility, respectively. The employees will be governed by the New Pension Scheme. On employment in ISRO, other facilities are available such as medical facilities for self and dependants, subsidized canteen, transport allowance when official transport is not availed, limited housing facility for fresh entrants in lieu of HRA, Leave Travel Concession, Group Insurance, advances for purchase of conveyance, construction of house, etc as per Central Government orders.
Other Conditions/Instructions:
  • The posts are temporary, but likely to continue.

VLSI Sector Will Create 75,000 Job Options By 2015



President of Hyderabad chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs JA Chowdary said that the VLSI designing industry will see rapid growth in the coming years.
Around 75,000 job opportunities will be generated for the very large-scale integration (VLSI) chip designing segment in India by 2015, said JA Chowdary, president, Hyderabad chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) at the 25th International Conference on VLSI Design and the 11th International Conference on Embedded Systems. The three-day conference started in Hyderabad on Monday.

At the conference, Chowdary told reporters, “About 25,000 people are currently employed in the VLSI designing industry in the country. With rapid growth expected in the coming few years, the segment will employ 75,000 people by 2015.”


According to Dasaradha R Gude, convener of the conference, the embedded systems market is one of the key drivers of Indian research and development (R&D) offshoring. He said that this market is pegged around $25 billion globally at present and is growing at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16 per cent.

Around 50 eminent speakers are participating in silver jubilee conference. The theme of this year's conference is 'Embedded Solutions for Emerging Markets – Consumer, Energy, Automotive'. Around 450 delegates from all over the world have come to participate in the conference, states a Business Standard report.
Jaswinder S Ahuja, corporate vice-president and managing director of Cadence Design Systems in India, said that long-term trends for the semiconductor industry and electronics are robust, and are driven by engineering excellence and creativity.

Ahuja also delivered his keynote at the conference, and said that with ‘killer apps’ driving innovation, mobility will become the norm. Ahuja shared, “Today, apps drive the industry. This trend is here to stay.” He further added that systems companies would now require semiconductor companies to deliver application-driven hardware-software platforms.

BHEL Recruitment Through GATE 2012

Bhel is recruiting Engineers Trainees in 2012 based on GATE 2012 score. Total number of expected positions are 800 for various disciplines. Opened positions for Mechanical are 550, Electrical (175) and for electronics (75). These branches are broadly mentioned and also covers few other specific branches. Eligibility Conditions:
Bachelor degree holders in Engineering/Technology ( 4yrs after 10+2) or Five year integrated Master Degree or Dual Degree programme in Engineering or Technology in Mechanical/Electrical/ Electronics Engineering.
Engineering Degrees from professional societies like UPSC/AICTE/AMIE equivalent to BE/BTECH in Mechanical/Electrical/ Electronics Engineering.
For the above disciplines for the post of Engineers Trainee, candidates with Engineering Degree in some other disciplines will be considered, for which they will, however take the GATE-2012 exam in one of the relevant BHEL advertised discipline. Refer to official website for more details.
Final year students are eligible to apply. However if they selected, they must be in a position to submit their final marks sheet by 20.08.2012.

27 for Greaduates in Engineering and Technology and 29 for Postgraduate or Engineering or Business Admistration.

AGE LIMIT: AS ON 01.04.2011

The maximum age limit for General candidates as on 01.04.2011 will be 25 years. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates. In respect of PWD candidates upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years.

In respect of PWD candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category, the age relaxation admissible will be over and above the relaxation admissible for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC.

For candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989, the upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for General candidates, 8 years for OBC candidates and 10 years for SC/ST candidates.

SCALE OF PAY:

Candidates selected against the above position, will be placed in E-II grade, at the minimum of the pay scale of Rs.16400-3%-40500/- . In addition, they will be entitled to DA, HRA, Conveyance Allowance, Performance Related Pay, Medical Reimbursement and other perquisites as admissible.

METHOD OF SELECTION:

Selection will be through written test and interview of shortlisted candidates based on performance in the written test.

Candidates who meet the qualifying criteria and whose online application is accepted are required to log on to the website and enter their application no. to access and download their written test call letter. Candidates are required to print the call letter and comply with the instructions indicated therein. Please note that call letters will not be sent through e-mail or through conventional mail.

Candidates, whose applications are accepted through the process of submission of online applications, are eligible to attend the written test at the respective centre. The call letters will be uploaded on the website on 10.06.2011

THE WRITTEN TEST WILL BE HELD ON 26.06.2011

The written test will be held at Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Guwahati centres. Candidates should choose the test centre nearest to their place of correspondence. SC/ST/PWD candidates will be reimbursed II Class to and fro train fare by the shortest route (from their correspondence address to the written test exam centre) for attending the written test on production of Railway Ticket Receipts and copy of the relevant caste / disability certificate, without which no reimbursement will be made. SC/ST/PWD are required to download and print the Traveling Allowance Format which is available in the advertisement. The Traveling Allowance Claim Form will be handed over to the Invigilator at the time of the written test. Please note that the candidates who have not downloaded, printed and filled the Traveling Allowance Claim form and with the required enclosures will not be paid TA. Request for change in the written test centres will not be entertained at any point of time.

The written test will consist of Objective type questions from basic Engineering subjects in the respective disciplines / specialisations and General Aptitude. The list of candidates short-listed in the written test for interview, will be placed on the BEL website on the 1st / 2nd week of August 2011 (tentatively). They will be required to appear for an interview for final selection. The results of selection will be available on the BEL website through query mode.

GENERAL CONDITIONS:

Only Indian Nationals need apply GEN/OBC candidates applying for the above posts are required to forward a crossed Demand Draft for Rs.500/- and SC/ST/PWD candidates are required to make a DD for Rs. 200/- in favour of BHARAT ELECTRONICS LIMITED drawn preferably on State Bank of India, payable at SBI, New Delhi along with the print out of the filled online application form having auto generated Registration Number with photograph affixed and duly signed, so as to reach to Post Box No: 4334, Kalkaji Head Post Office, New Delhi-110019 (To be sent through ordinary post only) on or before 16.05.2011 . Please indicate your name and auto generated Registration No. on the reverse side of the D.D. The written test call letters of candidates who do not submit the DDs by 16.05.2011 will not be uploaded on the website and they will not be eligible to attend the written test.
Candidates employed in Govt. Quasi-Govt. and Public Sector Undertakings will be required to produce ‘No Objection Certificate’ at the time of interview, without which they will not be allowed to appear for the interview.
SERVICE AGREEMENT: Selected candidates will be required to undergo an Orientation / On-the-Job training for a period of 6 months. They will be required to execute a Service Agreement to serve the company for a period of 3 years after training and should be willing to serve in any of our Units / Regional Offices. The amount payable for breach of Service Contract is Rs.3, 00,000/-.
The total number of posts allocated to each specialisation may be increased or decreased based on the actual requirement at the time of recruitment at the discretion of Management.
Appointment of the selected candidates will be subject to being found medically fit by the Company’s Medical Authorities.
There will be no separate communication to any candidates on their non-selection at any stage.

The future ISRO programme envisages development of cutting edge technologies for reusable launch vehicle, development of advanced technologies for Human Spaceflight Programme, advanced high efficiency semi-cryogenic propulsion system, advanced communication satellite, air breathing propulsion, satellite based navigation system, hyper spectral imaging sensors, and inter planetary missions.

ISRO offers the position of Scientist/Engineer `SC' in the pay band of Rs. 15600-39100 with grade pay of Rs. 5400/- to the young graduates in the following specialized fields

Eligibility:
  • BE/B.Tech or equivalent in First Class with an aggregate minimum of 65% (average of all semesters for which results are available). Candidates who are slated to complete the BE/B.Tech course in the academic year 2010-11 are also eligible to apply provided final Degree is available by 31.8.2011
Age Limit:
  • 35 years as on 28-02-2011 (40 years in case of SC/ST candidates and 38 years for OBC candidates, Ex-serviceman and Persons with Disabilities[PWD] are eligible for age relaxation as per Govt. of India orders).

For PWD persons, orders on reservation to the extent applicable will be extended for the above posts.

How to apply :

  • The application for on-line registration will be hosted in the ISRO web-site between 08-02-2011 and 28-02-2011. Candidates may visit our web-site at www.isro.gov.in to register their applications on-line between 08-02-2011 and 28-02-2011. Applications will be received on-line only. Upon registration, applicants will be provided with an on-line Registration Number, which should be carefully preserved for future reference. E-mail ID of the applicant will have to be given in the application compulsorily.
  • The on-line application has to be invariably followed-up with a `No Objection Certificate' from the employer concerned, by those already in employment under Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertakings or Autonomous Bodies, duly indicating the name and Reg. No. on the reverse.
  • Application Fee : There will be an Application Fee of Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred Only) for each application. Demand Draft details need to be filled-in at the time of on-line registration. The candidate before filing his application has to take a DD for Rs.100/- (non-refundable) from any of the Nationalized Bank in favour of the Sr. Accounts Officer, ISRO HQ, Bangalore, payable at Bangalore.
  • The Applicant should enter the DD Number, date and name of the Bank in the space provided for the same in the web application. After filing the application, on-line, the applicant has to send the DD with his/her Full Name (as entered in web), Post Number and Registration No. written on the reverse of the DD to Sr. Administrative Officer (ICRB), ISRO Headquarters, Antariksh Bhavan, New BEL Road, Bangalore - 560231 by post superscribing on the envelope "ISRO RECRUITMENT-SCI/ENGR-SC(BE/B.TECH)".
  • Please note that applications, in respect of which DDs have not been received with Name as mentioned in the application and Registration Number on the reverse, will not be considered.
  • Women candidates, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) candidates are exempted from payment of Application Fee subject to production of proof through any one of the following certificates as indicated for each category as below. The certificate may be sent to Sr.Administrative Officer (ICRB) , ISRO HQ, Antariksh Bhavan, New BEL Road, Bangalore -560 231 duly indicating the Name, Post No. and Reg.No. on the reverse.

  • Women Candidate - Attested copy of PAN Card/Voter's ID Card/College ID Card/Passport/Driving License/ Ration Card OR Gender status indicated in certificate issued by the Principal of the College where last studied

    SC/ST candidates - Attested copy of Caste Certificate

    Persons with disabilities(PWD) - Attested copy of Medical Certificate indicating extent of disability issued by Medical Board

  • Applications of candidates claiming Women/SC/ST/PWD status and therefore exemption from payment of Application Fee will be considered only if the certificate, as above, is received within 7 days of filing of application on-line and in any case not later than 07.03.2011. The Demand Draft and `No Objection Certificate' in respect of candidates employed under Central/State Govt/PSU/Autonomous Body should reach ISRO Headquarters, Bangalore within seven days of filing the applications on-line by the candidates and in any case not later than 07.03.2011.
Selection Process:
    The candidate should have First Class with minimum 65% marks in the Qualifying Degree ie, BE/B.Tech or equivalent. Please note that this qualification prescribed is the MINIMUM requirement and the same does not automatically make candidates eligible for written test. Based on the academic performance and bio-data, initial screening will be conducted to short-list candidates for taking-up written test. The written test will be conducted on 16th April 2011 [Saturday] at thirteen venues viz., Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cuttack, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, New Delhi and Thiruvananthapuram. However, the Organisation reserves the right to cancel/change the written test venue and re-allot the candidates to any other test centre. The call letters for the written test to the short-listed candidates will be sent only by e-mail during the last week of March 2011. Based on the performance of the candidates in the Written Test, candidates will be short-listed for interview, the schedule and venue of which will be notified. Candidates attending the interview will be reimbursed to and fro second-class train fare by the shortest route from the address given in the application to the place of interview.
Pay and Allowances:
    Selected candidates will be appointed as Scientist/ Engineer 'SC' in the pay band of Rs. 15600-39100 + 5400 (Grade Pay). The gross emoluments in the minimum of scale will at present be approximately Rs.30,450/- p.m. In addition, House Rent Allowance [HRA] and Transport Allowance at the prescribed rates in force at the place of posting will be paid for those who are not availing Departmental Housing and Transport facility, respectively. The employees will be governed by the New Pension Scheme. On employment in ISRO, other facilities are available such as medical facilities for self and dependants, subsidized canteen, transport allowance when official transport is not availed, limited housing facility for fresh entrants in lieu of HRA, Leave Travel Concession, Group Insurance , advances for purchase of conveyance, construction of house, etc as per Central Government orders.
Other Conditions/Instructions:
  • The posts are temporary, but likely to continue.
