Twitter Crashes On New Year!

Social networking site Twitter crashed down for around an hour in Britain because of the overload it faced on New Year. The social network was loaded with New Year messages with over 16,000 tweets per second.

With the overload and breakdown, the users could not post new messages or read the existing ones. The users could see only one message: “Twitter is over capacity.”

After being hit at the arrival of New Year in several parts of the world, the site is working perfectly fine now. According to an ET report, the meltdown was witnessed while Britain was welcoming a year of historic importance as the nation will host Olympics this year. Also, it is going to be Queen’s Diamond Jubilee which will be a landmark event in the history of the nation.
