HTC Edge – The First Quad-Core SmartPhone


This Christmas HTC fans get a surprise from the company. The much awaited HTC Edge is now expected to launch between March-April 2012, which is earlier than the expected date of the launch of the model. This model would be the first ever Quad-Core Smart phone to be launched.

Just an year back even Dual-Core processor in phones was a new concept, and just with the passage of months Quad cores have replaced the Dual-Cores. This models have been announced around a couple of months ago and they will be ready for the users soon. HTC manufacturers are trying their best to be the first to launch this kind of phone. ASUS has also announced that it’s first tablet running on Tegra-Core processor will launch in the early 2012.
This phone will improve the performance of your battery by almost two times because it has four 1.5GHz processors. Other than a much improved battery life, HTC Edge also offers 4.7 inch HD display, an 8 mega-pixel back camera, a 2 mega-pixel front camera and a storage of 1 GB RAM. It has an internal Flash storage space of as high as 32GB. HTC has also promised new features from the HTC Store for this model like the HTC Listen Music, HTC Read, HTC Watch and HTC Play. The operating system of the model would be Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It will have various connectivity schemes- EDGE, 3G, WLAN, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, GPRS Micro USB 2.0 and would be JAVA enabled.
The users have to just wait for the official launch of HTC Edge so that they can grab their piece just as it comes. The price of the model is yet to be disclosed.
