summer training @ bsnl

Objective
· To give an in-depth knoeledge in a particular telecommunication technology
· To give an exposure to working/live telecommunication equipment deployed in BSNL
· To acquaint the students in a particular area of their choice to enter the telecommunication industry

1. Switching Technologies:- Introduction to Switching, Digital Switching concepts, Telecom Infrastructure,Fundaments of Electronics Exchanges Basic concepts of Telephone traffic, QOS indicators Signaling in Telecommunication CCS7 Signaling Intelligent Network and Services Introduction to CDOT Swit ching
System CDOT ANRAX, MBM part-I CDOT MBM part-II alongwith Practicals.
2. Optical Fiber Communications:- Fundamentals of Optical Fibre communication, Construction and types of O.F Cables, O.F Components like Connectors, Couplers and O.F. Cable Splicing techniques,Optical Fiber Measuring Instruments and O.F. Link Engineering, PCM principles, Digital multiplexing hierarchy, Overview of PDH systems and 8 Mb, 34 Mb and 140 Mb Frame Structures, Overview of SDH/SONET, SDH network elements and Topology, Overview of DWDM along with Practicals.
3. Broad Band and Networking:- TCP / IP model & Protocol suite, IPV4
Addressing, subnetting, supernetting & Introduction to IPV6, Layer 1 Standards (V.24,V.35, HSSI etc..),Layer 2 Protocols ( HDLC, PPP ), Layer 3 Protocols (Routing Basics & Routing Protocols likeRIP,OSPF and EIGRP ), BSNL ( ISP) Network Internet Backbone architecture for Braodband connectivity, Access Technologies ( Wired & Wireless ), BB CPE configuration & Wi-Fi ( Theory), MPLSTechnology used in NIB network along with Practicals
4. Mobile Technologies:- Introduction to Telecom Networks & Evolution of Mobile Communications,Principles of Mobile Communication – AMPS Operation, Digital Cellular mobile system, GSM Bandwidth Management – GSM Specifications / Standards, GSM Radio Characteristics, GSM Bandwidth Management – Speech Coding, Modulation techniques Cellular Concepts & Frequency Reuse Scheme, GSM Architecture – Mobile Station, BTS, BSC, XCDR / TRAU, GSM Core Network elements – MSC,VLR, GMSC, HLR, AUC, EIR, GSM RF Logical Channels & Mobile ID numbers, GSM Mobility Management – Location Updation Procedure, Security Aspects, CCS#7 Signalling, Overview Call Management / Processing in GSM network ,GPRS & EDGE, Overview – Standards, Network Architecture, Applications3G UMTS Overview , 3G UMTS Applications / Services along with practicals.

Duration 1 Week (5 Working Days) Full Time from 09-30 to 17-00 Hrs for each course.

Eligibility 2'nd/3'rd Year Engineering students of streams of Electronic & Communications, and Telematics

Period May- June-July-2011

Registration Fees Rs 110/-(Rupees One Hundred and Ten) Only per course per candidate.

Training Fees Rs. 4000+ S/Tax (10.3%) works out to Rs 4,412/- for each course of 1-week duration.

At least 1 week in advance from the commencement date of each batch.
Hostel Facility Will be extended based on availability at that time.
Payment Modes:-
Payment of registration and course fees can be made in any of the three following modes.
1. Payment can be made by cash/cheque/DD drawn in favour of Accounts Officer (Cash), BSNL,
RTTC, Hyderabad. at the cash counter of RTTC, Gachibowli.
2. Payment in the form of DD drawn in favour of Accounts Officer (Cash), BSNL, RTTC, Hyderabad
along with the registration form can be send through speed post to the Principal, RTTC,
Gachibowli, Hyderabad-500 032.
3. Amount can be remitted to the RTTC, Corporation Bank, Gachibowli account No.
CBCA/01/000005, Bank MICR code:-500017025, Bank IFS Code:CORP0001049 through (a) ebanking/
EFT or (b) at any bank.
4. The candidates opting for the above option (3), should send an e-mail to bdrttc@bsnl.co.in giving

remittance particulars (f) Completely filled registration form as an attachment.
